My house is a one-up, one-down apartment of about 50 square metres (538 square feet), comprising sitting room with kitchen area, equipped with gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer and washing machine. The balcony has uninterrupted views across the Peligna Valley to Sulmona and the mountains beyond.
There are storage alcoves in the sitting room and on the stairs.
An attractive staircase leads upstairs to a good-sized bedroom with curtained wardrobe area and another balcony with the same views across the valley, and a shower room.
The apartment was built about 15 years ago, has been well maintained and fly screens were installed on all windows and balcony doors in 2011. Windows and balcony doors are double glazed varnished wood, with external, lockable shutters. Security front door.
There is a gas combi boiler providing hot water and central heating.
Parking is available nearby.
The house provides an ideal ‘lock up and leave’ holiday home in a picturesque medieval small town with more facilities than you would expect in a town of this size. Good restaurants, bars, a bank, Post Office, chemist and small supermarkets as well as a range of other shops.
The coast is about a 45 minute drive and good skiing is about 35 minutes away in Roccaraso.
A variety of cultural and musical activities take place in the nearby town of Sulmona, about 10 minutes down the hill and linked by a bus service if you don’t want to drive.
